Description

Since the beginning of the last century, illustrious guests have chosen Montecatini Terme as the most sought-after and luxurious Italian ville d’eaux, Giuseppe Verdi was one of them. He used to stop at the Locanda Maggiore, where his music room is still preserved, and was a guest of Montecatini from 1882 onwards.
Walk of Fame
The Walk of Fame of Montecatini Terme is inspired by the Walk of Fame of Hollywood: circular brass studs, bearing the names of illustrious personalities who have been guests of the city, run along the sidewalks of Viale Giuseppe Verdi, which connects Piazza del Popolo to the Terme del Tettuccio.
Bronze statue
The Russian artist Aidyn Zeinalov donated to Montecatini the bronze statue of Verdi, 2 meters and 40 high, which is located in the avenue and in front of the theater that bear his name.
The Verdi Theatre was designed in 1928 by the architect Fortini as an open-air theatre, and was inaugurated in 1930 with Aida by Giuseppe Verdi.
